Baltic - Margaret Woodhouse Becker, died at home In Sprague, Connecticut on May 12, 2025. Born January 28,1925 in Northampton, MA, a former resident of New Canaan, CT and Naples, FL she was the daughter of the Honorable Chase Going Woodhouse and Edward James Woodhouse. She Is survived by her daughters Courtney B. Adam and Nan J. Becker, her son-in-law Shane P. Lennon, her three grandchildren Astrid S. Adam, John C. Adam and James E. B. Lennon (Jeb) and her brother Edward James Woodhouse, Jr. and his wife Susan Woodhouse. She was predeceased by her husband John Ewing Becker, her daughter Margaret Chase Becker and her son John Ewing Becker, Jr. (Jeb).
She attended the University of Connecticut and graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She also attended George Washington Law School. A longtime member and Chairman of the New Canaan Board of Education, she was dedicated to democratic party politics and active throughout her life supporting local, state and federal policies intended to support public education and policies to benefit working people. She was particularly proud of her work as the Chief Clerk of a Joint Congressional Committee and her work for the AFL-CIO.
